Operational context

Smart Scan lets you add products to the pantry or stock by scanning the barcode with the phone camera. It recognises most products with European EAN codes and automatically fills name, category and unit. For the home cook (Toque Blanche+) it reduces the time to enter weekly shopping; for professional kitchens it can be used alongside the supplier-invoice OCR for individual entries. Frequently asked questions

Which barcode types does Smart Scan recognise?

EAN-13 and EAN-8 (European retail standard), UPC-A (US standard), GTIN-12/14, and Code 128 (logistics). It also supports QR codes for products without a classic code. Reading is local — the code image is not sent to external servers.

What if the product isn't in the database?

The system automatically creates a new entry with the EAN and only asks the user for name and category. The next time that EAN is scanned (same store or another), the product is instantly recognised.

Does Smart Scan have a daily limit?

Yes — daily quota to prevent abuse: 20/day for Toque Blanche+ and trial accounts; 100/day for Restaurants and Gastropubs, Restaurants & Bars — Premium and Premium Total. Counter resets at midnight. For larger professional volumes, contact support.
