Operational context

The Step Photos module lets you attach your own photo to each step of a recipe or operational procedure (camera or file upload). Useful in two scenarios: training new staff (each preparation step with an associated photo shortens the learning curve in high-turnover kitchens) and documenting recipes for consistent reproduction across shifts. The upload is performed manually by the user — there is no AI image generation. Available on Restaurants & Bars Premium plans and above.

Frequently asked questions

How do I add photos to recipe steps?

Manual upload by the chef: in the recipe view, each step has a button to upload a photo taken in the kitchen. Photos are linked to the step and can be replaced at any time.

Can I replace a photo that came out poorly?

Yes. Clicking the step's upload button again uploads a new photo that replaces the previous one. There's no replacement limit, and the prior version is not retained — only the current photo is kept.

Do the photos appear in printable PDFs?

Yes. Recipe PDFs export with the photo of each step (when uploaded), A4 format, with Chef7 branding. Useful to pin in prep stations as a visual guide.
