Operational context

The Chef7 Multi-establishment edition (Restaurants & Bars Multi plan) supports operators with multiple units under the same management. Each unit has its own stock, team and configuration, but consolidated dashboards (sales, food cost, BI) provide integrated visibility. Features include stock transfers between units (e.g. central kitchen → satellite), cross-location staff (a cook authorised in two units), and a commissary kitchen mode for centralised production distributed to several outlets. Pricing and commercial availability are in development — contact support for details.

Frequently asked questions

Do units share a menu or does each have its own?

Each unit has its own menu. There's a "sync from parent unit" mode for chains with a uniform menu — changes at the parent propagate to satellites in 1 click. Each satellite can then override locally (e.g. a regional dish only in Porto).

How do inter-unit stock transfers work?

The source unit records a "transfer out", the destination unit confirms "receipt". Stock updates automatically on both ends. The transfer log lives in audit log for auditing — useful for central kitchen → multiple satellites flows.

Can staff work in more than one unit?

Yes. The cross-location system lets you authorise a member in N units with different permissions in each (e.g. Chef in Lisbon, Cook in Porto). PIN is the same, the system detects the active unit by device. Audit log cross-references across units.
